We believe and follow a similar philosophy to the Responsive Classroom that "Children's developmental needs should be the foundation for every choice we make in the Extended Learning Program. They need to remain at the center of our decisions about programs, policies, scheduling, and everyday practices."1

COMMON CORE CONNECTION
The Common Core initiative is creating more rigorous curriculum standards that require our students to possess strong foundation skills in order to proceed to the next learning level. Extended learning time is an opportunity for students to expand their learning to help strengthen their foundation skills with hands on learning activities. To learn more about the Common Core Standards please visit Common Core Standards.
