Children's Autism Waiver Program: The Department of Developmental Services is conducting a new application process for parents of young children with autism to apply for the Children's Autism Waiver Program. Applications are due between Spetember 20th and October 1st. Information and applications can be found at http://www.mass.gov/dds
 
  The Discover Conference: Saturday October 23, 2010
The Discover Conference is for families of school age children who are blind, visually impaired and deafblind, including those with additional disabilites. It will be held at Perkins' Watertown, MA campus. The focus of this conference is on helping families build networks and find support from each other. Children's Mental Health Campaign and Assabet Valley Collaborative invite you to Marlborough Children's Mental Health Focus Group on Thursday September 23rd from 5:30-7:00 PM at the Assabet Valley Collaborative 57 Orchard St. Marlborough, MA. Volunteers Needed : The Special Education Surrogate Parent Program is seeking volunteers to become an important part of the Special Education Team for a child in State Custody. They are offering training session at six different locations through out the state. Please see the attached flyer for the dates and locations. Leominster Library: Developmental Disabilities Research Validated Library Collection. This collection of library materials, housed at the Leominster Public Library contains information about research-based approaches to assist children and adults with developmental disabilities. This collection is inteded to meet the diverse needs of families, educators and others in the community in a user-friendly way.

Access Pass: The Access Pass is free for individuals with permanent disabilities. This pass provides access to and use of any Federal recreation site that charges an entrance or standard amenity fee and also provides a discount on some expanded amenity fees.
