Special Education Parents Advisory Council

The Special Education Parents' Advisory Council is open to everyone in the Nashoba Regional School District Community. Meeting dates and locations are included in the Nashoba Regional School District Calendar. Monthly SPED PAC meetings include presentations on a variety of subjects and provide a forum for interaction with other parents, professionals and community members who have experience with children with special needs.

Wednesday, March 26th @ 7:00 pm-special second meeting with Harvard SPED PAC. Nashoba SPED PAC is invited to join our Harvard neighbors at the Bromfield School for "Homework Helpers and Study Strategies" presented by Joan Finger, educatuional consultant and tutor in Bolton. Ms.Finger will demonstrate examples of hands-on strategies for elementary, middle school and HS students. Topics include organizing materials, motivating students, planning time, hints for writing, and successful, easy to use study tips. Audience questions are welcome. The Bromfield School is located on 110, just before the blinking light in Harvard.

Wednesday, April 16th @ 7:15 pm Location: Academic Support Center @ NRHS Please come and view the documentary film by photojournalist Dan Habib "Including Samuel". This film examines the the educational and sociall inclusion of youth with disabilites. There will be a discussion after the film. Wednesday, May 21st @ 7:15 pm Location: Academic Support Center @ NRHS Yelling Doesn't Work! Presented by Rebbecca Goniwich of the Federation for Children with Special Needs.What you can do to help a child with special needs comply at home and in the classroom using Positive behavior Supports. Further description will be posted on the SPED PAC website.
