The NHRS International Club is thrilled to host their Third Annual International Fest, a celebration of the many cultures that make up our community. The event provides a space for students, staff, and community members to come together, share, and learn about different traditions. As club lead, Mrs. Hera, shared, “Everyone is just really proud of their own culture and is so excited to learn about and sample other people’s, it’s a great energy. Very happy, and positive, and curious."
Hadassah Kamau joined the club after moving into the district looking for a space that celebrated community. Now as the acting president, Hadassah expressed how meaningful it has been to receive support from both staff and students. This past week, the group worked together to spread the word, delivering colorful flyers to local community locations.
Each year the International Fest features a variety of tables, games, activities, and performances from different cultures. Last year, 21 cultural tables were set up, and highlights included a crepe station and traditional performances. Staying true to their goal, the group works with Nashoba News and with the EL department to ensure the event is accessible to all, offering flyers in multiple languages and through multiple avenues.
