Florence Sawyer School 8th Grade Civics students have been learning about the legal system and Judicial Branch over the past six weeks. Students were fortunate to have a presentation by Judge Revelli from Clinton District Court, joined by Chief Probation Officer Terrence Moran and Court Officer Marlin Santiago as part of Judicial Outreach Month.
Judge Revelli, Officer Moran, and Officer Santiago provided students with a window into their roles in the Massachusetts trial court system. Students previously had a presentation from Heather Powell from the Massachusetts Jury Commissioner's Office about jury duty and the role of the jury in the trial system.
These presentations provide opportunities for students to see the real world connection to what they are learning about in the classroom.
